Daisen Park in Osaka, Japan

Here we are at Daisen Park. This is where we had an authentic tea ceremony.

At the tea ceremony
Green tea and sugar cubes
Either I am really tall or she is really short! I am not standing on anything by the way :)

Eating Sushi in Japan!

I absolutely LOVE Sushi! Now that I have tasted authentic Japanese Sushi, I have no idea how I will be able to eat it back in the states! The entire menu was in Japanese!

Here we are enjoying the traditional Japanese drink, Saki!
The BEST Sushi I have ever had!
Right by our hotel was the shopping district. Becca and I spent all night shopping :)
Here I am after an all night shopping spree in Japan. I was tired!

My trip to Japan

Last weekend, my friend Becca (her husband is a fellow pilot here in Korea and she teaches across the street from my school) went to Osaka, Japan. We had an amazing time! We only wish the guys were able to come! They were too busy flying :)

Here is Becca and I when we arrived at the Kansai airport in Japan.
Here we are riding on the train to Osaka, Japan.
This is a typical Japanese breakfast. I didn't know what anything was except the fruit and rice. There was an entire buffet and this is all I took. I guess I am not that adventurous when it comes to food :)
When Becca and I first arrived, we went to the wrong hotel. They did not speak English and we had no idea why they couldn't find our reservation. After about 2 hours of waiting, the let us know (with body language) that our hotel was up the street. When we arrived, this was our hotel room. It was really as small as the picture seems. The bed was twin sized! We eventually got a bigger room :)
Here we are in front of the Hard Rock Restaurant in Osaka.

Our adventure to North Korea

This weekend, we went to the Demilatarized Zone (DMZ). This is the border zone between North and South Korea. There is basically a 4 km area between both countries that we are allowed to go into. By doing this, we are able to see North Korea!

Here we are right outside the DMZ. Below, I am at a traditional watering spring. There was one canister for everyone to drink out of.

At the DMZ, we were only allowed to take pictures in certain areas. Here I am before we knew this. North Korea is in the background.

Here we are right in front of North Korea's Embassy. This North Korean soldier is keeping a close eye on our group.

America Town

Right near base is a local restaurant and bar area called "America Town." The Korean's call it America Town because of all the American guys from base that go there. Here we are with Becca and Andy.

Matt's Naming Night

This was Matt's "naming" night. It was a squadron event in which guys get "renamed." We went to "America Town" (this is a local bar area near base in which the Koreans named because of all the American guys that go there) and each guy told funny stories about Matt. This is a picture of me with Sunny, she works on base and made all of our shirts.

Matt laughing at all of the funny stories about his name "AB".

Matt and the guys on a bus to A-Town.

My School, The KNC Language School

Welcome to Korea! We have offically been in Korea now for almost 2 months! Here I am at my school, The KNC Language School. This is my director and some of the students. Teaching here has been such an amazing experience! The kids speak little to no English. We communicate a lot by body motions and pictures. I have 5 to 6 fifty minute classes each day. The kids range in age from 5 years old to 19.
